Please read this 3-0 ruling written by Reagan appointee Harvie Wilkinson, one of the US's most respected conservative judges, a defender of executive power. It excoriates the Trump Admin's ignoring of the 9-0 SCOTUS order requiring it to "facilitate" Abrego Garcia's release.👇

An investigation by the Free Press working with our new database of federal government mis/disinformation awards from 2010-2025 liber-net.org/federal-awards

Ever wondered how suddenly the {mis, dis, mal}information framing became omnipresent? Well, if the US govt alone spent USD 1.5 billion (!) in grants and awards to prop up that discourse, it's going to have an impact. #FoE #censorship #USA #netgov #disinfo

Last month, France nearly banned encryption. A law requiring messaging apps to implement a backdoor for police access to private messages was passed by the Senate. Luckily, it was shot down by the National Assembly. Yet 3 days ago the Paris Police Prefect advocated for it again.

The independent press continues to disappoint. Despite the many, many problems w/legacy media, the biggest indy podcasters/writers continue to produce basically zero original investigative work and suck up to the gov at every opportunity. Most are total hypocrites on free speech

When they were in power, Democrats would mock civil liberties as “freedumb,” but now that they out the opposition party, these principles are suddenly very important again. 🙄

HERE'S WHAT I'D DO IF I WANTED TO INCREASE MY VISIBILITY ON X - AND HERE'S WHY I WON'T BE DOING IT 🧵 Some X users may notice that as their useage of X declines, the reach of their posts plummets. It is tempting to "play the game" to raise visibility. But I won't. Here's why:

For years, Ulrike Guérot was one of Germany’s most respected political scientists. But after she criticised the pandemic response and the proxy war in Ukraine, she was subjected to a Stasi-like campaign of persecution. I wrote about her incredible story: thomasfazi.com/p/enemy-of-the…

Orwell thought naively that to pull off this reversal censors from the Ministry of Truth would have to go back and change or erase the first headline. Today we are so beaten down, distracted, dazed that we don't even require this alteration. Our brains ARE the memory holes!

Will any media or "anti-disinformation" initiatives that yelled "safe and effective" and censored online discussion of the risks and benefits retract and apologise now that the Australian government says the benefits don't "outweigh the potential harms" for under 18s?
