We’re very pleased to have our most recent work out now in Nature Communications!
Polymer Science and Engineering students doing great things and going to great places - Congrats to Yunfei Wang and to her research advisor Xiaodan Gu!
It is an honor to be supplanted by none other than dear friend Ben Savino.
Kudos to Dr. Zhe Qiang on securing the esteemed U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER Award! Zhe's project engages USM Polymer Science & Engineering students to transform plastic waste into valuable mesoporous carbons for water purification, promoting sustainability & a healthier environment!
Very pleased that one of our (Qiang Research Group) most recent works on converting thermoplastic elastomers into mesoporous carbons has been selected as one of this month’s 🔥HOT🚒 articles. Go check it out! doi.org/10.1039/D3ME00…
[Photos from ACS PMSE Division /ACS POLY Division Award Ceremony] Early-Stage Investigator Award Winners. Hearty congratulations! Hope you all had a great time at #ACSFall2023. All the very best to your careers. American Chemical Society #RisingStars
Transformative R&D is performed daily at MS's research institutions, like Southern Miss, which has been awarded a $4M grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation to establish a hub of plastic-climate-health research focused on environmental & social equity & workforce diversity! bit.ly/3qAaQmB
BACK ON TOP 🫡 After a rare loss in spring 2023,Eliud Kipchoge - EGH🇰🇪 is once again victorious at the 2023 Berlin Marathon, taking the win in 2:02:42. That’s officially the fifth sub-2:03 of Kipchoge’s career and he has still never lost two marathons in a row.
Look at our School Director Go! Well done Derek Patton on this appointment!
Had fun with the polymer science and the art on this one! You'll have to read the paper to understand why we featured Benjamin M. Alameda's motorbike in the cover art. Still many challenges to address with degradable thermosets and with carbon fiber recovery/reuse.
Being a DYSS speaker has been a fantastic experience! It was a pleasure to learn from the students and faculty at UW Chemical Engineering and to have the opportunity to present my research. Seattle has always been one of my favorite places and I’m fortunate to have had this opportunity!
