I love my Co-teacher! Happy Friday from KortenCrew and I! We decided to twin today. #TeamLoweKorten! We have some amazing students who are passionate readers and writers . We are happy to celebrate a successful marking period 1 as our students grow as learners! ❤️

2020 has been so hard on everybody. We all miss normalcy and the old times in our lives and classrooms. But every day hearing from my students, seeing their smiles, seeing their pets and holiday decorations and hearing their jokes, makes my heart feel lighter. 😃

During some winter break cleaning, I happened to come across my 8th grade yearbook from when I was student at TJMS! It is amazing that years and years later I get the opportunity to teach students at the same exact school I attended ! 😊Thomas Jefferson MS

One thing I really miss about being in school is the philosophical chairs AVID strategy. KortenCrew and I tried an at home version using Jamboard and Ss made so many good points! We were discussing Amal Unbound! I am so impressed with our SS. ☀️😃

After we finished “Amal Unbound”Ss were so excited. This sparked a discussion about the arrest of Jawad Sahib which led us to a “mock trial” discussing the actions &character traits of this character.I love these moments. Seeing students so engaged &enthused makes me so happy☺️💙

I tried out my first socially distant, hybrid Socratic Seminar! We read an article and discussed the topic “Is Tik Tok good for kids?”. SS both at home & in person did a good job discussing the topic and listening to each other’s POV!😎🤩

I am so impressed with my students work on their Shark Tank pitches and persuasive speeches! They created products and presented them to the “sharks”who were their teachers and classmates!! Amazing project !
