A4 Every time you say “yes” to something, you are inevitably saying “no” to something else. Choose what your priorities are, does the “yes” play into them or go against them?

A3 1st I deleted work email off my phone. 2nd I planned what days I was willing to stay late ( I chose 2) and the others I left at contract time. 3rd batched my work. 4th communicated with my team, students/family my priority of family.

A2 I make a Power List of the top 3 things that have to be done each day. Once I get those done everything else is bonus. I also batch my work, each day so I was focused on certain tasks instead of bouncing from one task to the next.

A1 reflect hard on what’s important and keep that to your core. My family was mine and I wanted to not only be with them, but present. Scheduling, batching tasks, using my time during planning wisely helped, but I also had to make firm boundaries on not bringing things home.

I am all for structure, but teachers need to show a little grace. It goes a long way in building relationships. Every student, as they experience adolescence, is figuring out this crazy world, which most adults still haven’t figured out.
