Students are working on making posters about Ancient China’s physical features and climate.

I told the students that their theme literary essays are varsity level. Today we gathered all our revisions together to prepare for the championship game. We will revise to fine tune the essays tomorrow.

Final drafts of literary theme essay are due Tuesday. Students worked with the check lists and grading progressions to improve their drafts today.

We turned our classroom into an Shang Dynasty museum. I was amazed at how creative the students were and how much they learned. They were inspired at the Asian Art Museum last week.

Reading to develop empathy is hard work for sixth graders. Noticing who has power is easy, asking what the effects of power imbalance are both in the short and longer term is when they develop their empathy muscles. #TCRWP
