From what the article says this sounds great to me.

I just signed a bill to make this illegal in the state of California. You can no longer knowingly distribute an ad or other election communications that contain materially deceptive content -- including deepfakes.

I’m not a huge fan of the look but honestly I would happily wear them if it worked well with some fun creative tools like medium. I only quit using medium because VR felt isolating & uncomfortable. But this video made me think the 46° field of view is probably too small.
