Some examples of my dual teaching of #N5HRUAE and #folioinspo Pupils select a topic and create a basic plan. We then learn about persuasive techniques and then switch the focus onto close reading. As we learn about each technique, pupils update their chart with own examples.

It struck me a few years ago that I was essentially teaching things like topic sentences, linking and effective introductions and conclusions twice, so this way kills two birds with one stone. As ever, send me a message if you'd like a copy! #N5HRUAE #folioinspo

ALL the banners have been removed from outside Save Maryhill Library lib including children's art work 😠. This is a library that GL claimed wasn't well used but every wk people have been turning up to demand their library back. Glasgow Life can you shed any light on this?

As a teenager I spent months in free public libraries in Dundee and then Glasgow. Provided such liberation, space to think and ideas to act upon. Wouldn't have qualified as a Scottish solicitor without libraries Save Glasgow Libraries Libraries are transformational places.

Read ins TODAY, 11am, outside your local library! We'll continue until all our 32 library buildings are reopened and professionally run. Not by atomised community groups or businesses but by Glasgow City Council, who we pay to run them.

S2 have used their knowledge of persuasive techniques to design posters for useless products. For added incentive, I've said that I'll buy the product in the most persuasive poster!

All of Glasgow's 32 libraries are back! Can you spot yours? Susan Aitken has claimed this was always the plan but the people who fought for almost two years for their libraries know this is rubbish. If it wasn't for people power, these buildings wouldn't be breathing again.
