Brook has made the decision to postpone Sexual Health Week 2022. Like many organisations, we will only be delivering essential services during this time. THREAD [1/2]

There’s lots of incorrect information about contraception and this can make it hard for young people to find the right method for them. We’ve taken a look at some common myths and and provided the real facts to help them make an informed decision. brook.org.uk/your-life/cont…

Matilda, chapter 1 - methinks the librarian needs some safeguarding children training. Matilda, chapter 4 - spot the domestic abuse. I'm sensing some themes which maybe didn't come across when I first read it as a schoolchild!

If you want to know why 300,000 teachers are on strike today this is why. We don’t take this action lightly but we must #SaveOurSchools. Time for Gillian Keegan to take action.

No-one makes the decision to go on strike lightly. Teachers are striking today because they, and our schools, are under-funded and under-valued. Failing to invest in education is future-discounting. It’s letting our children down. #TeacherStrike

Let's try "82.6% of secondary schools were closed to some or all pupils due to National Education Union members taking action to get this government to value education & value educators" Sounds better, don't you think, 🇬🇧 TeacherToolkit.co.uk?

This. From a parent. Not a teacher. Not school staff. A parent, who has her children educated by caring, passionate teachers, who want the best for their students.

Ended up working in a sports venue less than 1/2-mile from where I did my teacher training last night. Was great to see so many young people either volunteering or just passionately engaged with the sport. Pretty sure 1 or 2 may have recognised me from when I used to teach them!

Less than 24 hours' notice, and right before a strike caused by this government's failure to support schools & teachers in a way that would deal with the present retention crisis? Wonder what they think the outcome will be...
