Politicians promise us free stuff. The 2020 presidential campaign is no exception. I add the cost--candidate by candidate.

My buddy Jimmy Taylor knocked the ball out of the park as the keynote for the Texas SHRM leadership meeting this morning.

“We are leaving soldiers to secure the oil. And we may have to fight for the oil. It’s okay.” No, Mr. President, it’s not okay. It’s unauthorized and unconstitutional. Despite his talk of ending wars, Pres. Trump always finds an excuse to keep them going. Now, it’s Syrian oil.

Yesterday, Speaker Pelosi said the president has “abused his power for his own personal, political benefit.” Today, she wants to extend the president’s power to do warrantless surveillance of Americans.

The Patriot Act extension passed the House with nearly all Democrats voting for it. When Pres. Trump signs it into law, Democrats will be just as responsible for warrantless surveillance as Trump and the GOP. Neither party is looking out for you. That’s why I’m an independent.

In this week’s New York Times Opinion The Argument, they ask why the leading Democratic candidates are “so white.” David Leonhardt, Michelle Goldberg, and even Ross Douthat never seriously discussed that Harris, Booker, et al might simply have some of the worst ideas in a race full of bad ideas.

I always knew that there were morons in the world that took jokes seriously, but I'm surprised that some journalists do. Surely, understanding stuff is pretty fundamental to their job, isn't it? Just makes it funnier though, I guess😇

1. Simply pointing out whether someone is left or right wing isn't winning the argument. 2. If a joke is good enough, it can be enjoyed by anyone. 3. It's not all about you. 4. Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.
