We've increased snow totals slightly for the interior. Snow to a rain/snow mix is expected tonight between 7pm tonight to a few hours after midnight from a frontal system. 1-2 inches of snow expected in the interior w/ LI/NYC under 1 inch with mainly rain or a rain/snow mix.

We have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for tonight across Interior Southern CT for 2 to 4 inches of snow. Amounts will be less across interior NE NJ and the LoHud, generally 1 to 2 inches. Across NYC metro and LI, the precip begins as light snow, but quickly changes to rain.

There is a slight risk of both severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall today for portions of the area. As a cold front sharpens and begins to push toward the coast, scattered to numerous storms should develop by mid to late afternoon and continue into this evening.
