Due to high winds, a portion of Telephone road at Sw 17th and Telephone Road will be closed. A gas station awning may fall across the road.

⚠️ SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK LIKELY 4 pm and midnight. Likely the most impactful Oklahoma weather event of 2023 so far. It will NOT just be 1 or 2 storms. Expect tornadoes, widespread damaging winds in the 80-100 mph range, and up to softball size hail. Fast movers west to east.

Fast moving storms will limit reaction times. Part of being aware means understanding when things are likely to be unusual. This combination of wind shear and instability are not unprecedented, but it is rare this late in the season. Think April jet stream with June instability.
