#SierraLeone’s Austin Demby strengthens collaboration with the Global Fund to advance Mpox response and national medical warehouse project at a high-level meeting with the The Global Fund on the margins of the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, Switzerland.


Health Minister Austin Demby, holds very successful engagement with #WHO boss Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on how to improve collaboration to address the surging M-pox situation in #SierraLeone with specific focus on securing more vaccines to interrupt the chain of transmission.


This afternoon, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh visited one of the MPOX treatment facilities at the Police Training School in Hastings. The new 400-bed facility is now fully up and running with the hope of breaking the chain of transmission through effective isolating and treatment of patients.


With over 1400 successful free surgeries so far, #SierraLeone’s partnership with Mercy Ships has been nothing but successful. #MoH’s Dr.med.M.S.Kabba joined Mercy Ships volunteer surgeons yesterday to perform free surgical procedures as a show of the ministry’s ongoing support.


The supplies include essential PPEs, lab testing materials, IPC tools, & critical items to support surveillance, case management, & the protection of frontline health workers, as well as strengthen HIV & EPI interventions.
