The East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing was founded in 1937 at Dedham in Essex by Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-Haynes. After a fire in 1939 (started by Lucian Freud's discarded cigarette) the school moved to Benton End, Suffolk. This is Morris' painting of the garden.
