A super day for the Superheroes of 3MA! South Walney Juniors

Happy Hallowe’en from year 3

We were visited by Mr Hill who helped us create some wonderful seaside models in clay, lots of messy fun!

On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to attend a Stone Age workshop. We made made our own axe and designed cave paintings. What a fun day!

What a busy morning in Year 3 today! We have been making our very own popcorn for the school fair and the classroom smells delicious! Our flavours are 🍿Salty and sweet 🍿 🍿Cinnamon and cranberry 🍿 🍿Lemon and orange🍿

On Monday year 3 visited St Mary’s church as part of our RE topic. Mary and Maureen told us lots of interesting facts about the church. The children asked sensible questions and were extremely well behaved. 🌟

The children have been invited to St Mary’s church on Sunday 18th December at 4pm for the Christingle Service.

As part of DT in year 3, our children made Fruity yoghurt. They were practicing their ‘bridge and claw’ cutting skills and making a wonderful job! It was certainly mixed feelings on the taste. Well done for trying something different 👍

These chips were so easy to make, so tasty and a massive hit with the children. They certainly didn’t last long!

There was some super maths work yesterday in 3MA, they were learning real life skills, how to subtract money 💰 Well done Y3

Party time in Year 3 today as we say goodbye and good luck to Mrs McParland after 24 years at South Walney Junior School. We will miss you!

Year 3 were invited to Furness College to take part in #STEM2023. We met lots of interesting people with amazing, interactive activities. We listened to a speech by the Deputy Mayor and watched a show by the crazy scientist, Professor Pumpernickel. What a great morning! #swalneyj
