One of the best things a teacher can do in the course of the day is to have a conversation with a student about something other than school.

Don’t really understand the hate towards women’s football. If it’s not for you that’s absolutely fine. You don’t have to watch, listen, read or engage. The game is growing, improving and inspiring youngsters - all hugely positive things. Anyway, come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #Lionesses

It's home, again.

Hannah Hampton has no depth perception. She had multiple operations on her eyes before she was 5 years old. She was told she’d never play professional sport. What she’s just done defies description, medical science, anything else you can name. A phenomenal human being. 🥲

What this #lionesses team have done for the sport in this country is generational. For everybody that grew up in the era of ‘girls don’t play football’, I cannot even begin to tell you what this means.

🧱 Hannah Hampton, who was born with a serious eye condition, was told by doctors she should not play football. 🧱 Luckily for us, she ignored them and she's just saved two penalties to win England the EUROs.

When recommending a book to a child, 'Here's a book I read, loved and think you'll enjoy' carries more weight than 'Here's a book from a list that someone else says is good'. Lists can be a real help and a great starting point but knowing (at least some of) the books is crucial.
