Taking a brain break with our Daily Mile 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️💨

Our class charter. We all decided on a sports theme as a way to show our agreement to respect each other’s rights 😊⚽️🏀🏊🏼‍♀️🏇🏻🤸🏽‍♂️

Today P6M worked hard on using a Spidergram to help them plan an information report. Each person choose a subject that they were an expert in. Next week we will use ours plans to write our reports and will share them with each other 😊

P6M are thoroughly enjoying Science week so far. We have been learning about how different living things are classified and about the differences between the different types of vertebrates and invertebrates 🦅🐛🐺🐌🐍🦀🐊

Yesterday, we learned more about our nervous system and how signals are sent around the body from our brain. We carried out some different tests to challenge our reaction times.

We then tried to establish if our sense of smell affects our ability to taste. The results were mixed- some people could tell what the mystery objects were and others couldn’t 🍎🥔😆

Finally- we learned more about how we see. We carried out an experiment using 3 different lights- red, blue and green. We were amazed by the different colours we could make with them. We also learned more about optical illusions and why we see things that aren’t always there 👀

Wow! What a busy week it has been! I’ve been so impressed with the enthusiasm and effort everyone has shown. I think we definitely have a few budding scientist in our class. Well done everyone, have a great weekend 😁👏🎉

Today as part of our comparative study on Japan, we worked with a partner to create a PowerPoint presentation on the land use in each country. We are very excited to share these with each other on Friday 😊💻

We had a great first day back at school yesterday. Everyone was raring to go after the holiday! We worked on developing our ICT skills using Key Note to design an app to help people with everyday problems. We are excited to share these with each other later this week 😊

This morning, we learned more about the origins of Halloween, took part in a quiz and created a spooky scene using contrasting colours with Mrs Logie 😊🧙🏻‍♀️
