This is such a smart way to organize literacy centers so that everyone knows where they should be, at what time, and what activity they will be participating in! PJ Language Arts Methodology UWindsor

These are examples of interactive literacy notebooks that you can introduce into the classroom so students have a personal guidebook to their learning. This is a resource they can add and refer to when needed. PJ Language Arts Methodology UWindsor

Yesterday in Jk/Sk we worked on learning our 3D shapes! We played a class activity where each student got to chose a picture and identify what kind of 3D shape it belongs to! #3Dshapes #learninganddevelopment

Some of our literacy centres from last week! Students practiced fishing for initial sounds, making Lego letters, created letters and words with sensory glitter bags, and worked on their heart words!

Today in grade two we got to try some panettone after learning about Christmas in Italy during our Social Studies unit! We then graphed our data on if we liked it or not! Sarah Pelaccia-Reaume

I love this approach of using coding to create cvc, cvce, and sight words! Looks like such a fun and engaging way to create a cross-curricular lesson between math and literacy while being able to assess their knowledge and understanding of the task at hand. @EY_uwindsor

Great way to incorporate nature and real-life elements into the classroom to inspire students' creativity! Rather than showing students how to draw the flower, have them take inspiration from what they can see and feel allowing for each piece of art to be unique! @EY_uwindsor

Mixing sensory play with Science of Reading, love it! A great way for students to figure out individual sounds within a word by pressing one ball of play dough for each sound! Making that physical connection while problem-solving is so beneficial for students. @EY_uwindsor

Bryce is playing with playdough during independent free play. He is pretending to make a bowl of pasta by rolling out the play dough and cutting it into equal pieces. To make sure they are the same size, he would line up the first one and cut it to match! So smart! @EY_uwindsor

Students participated in a post office drama center during the month of February to celebrate Valentine's Day! It was so wonderful to watch students take on their roles and participate in real-world scenarios like mailing letters to loved ones or sorting inventory! @EY_uwindsor

Using leaves in art while also creating a focus on patterning! Students would be encouraged to forage for natural materials to create mandellas & patterns. In a jk/sk classroom, you could take students on a nature walk and collect your materials! @EY_uwindsor
