A great maxim on today’s episode: “‘¡Ni tu mismo te lo crees!’ That’s what my grandmother would say to me. Not even you believe it!” Judge Milian is skeptical that the plaintiff’s alley mechanic charged her $150/month for storage. (h/t ❤Yesenia Rodriguez❤ for the correct spelling!)

A new maxim from yesterday’s episode of The People’s Court! “In Spanish we call that ‘tapando el sol con un dedo’.” Covering the sun with one finger, i.e., ignoring a big problem and hoping it goes away.

On Friday’s all new episode: “Do le tú vas, ya yo fui, me sentó, y regresé.“ Where you're going, I already went, had a soda and returned. Meaning, it's obvious or I have lots of experience with that.

Enjoy this classic maxim from today’s episode of The People’s Court: "¡Me pica allí, me rasca aquí!" It itches me here, but you're scratching me there! The plaintiff really isn’t answering Judge Milian’s question!

The first maxim of the new, socially distanced The People’s Court! And it’s a classic: “Lo barato sale caro” or “the cheap comes out expensive.” The plaintiff should have paid the optional insurance coverage for his move. Without it he only got 60¢ per pound!

A classic maxim on S24E56: "¡Me pica qué, me rasca aquí!" It itches here, but you're scratching me there! Judge Milian wants the plaintiff to present the evidence she’s asking for!

The first maxim to come from Judge Milian’s husband Judge John on S24E57! He says: “My 95 year old mother-in-law would listen to this story and say, ‘que hombre más sinvergüenza,’ which means ‘what a shameless fellow.’” The defendant was a scoundrel!

From Season 24 Episode 64: Judge Milian says the situation between roommates "esto es un arroz con mango". In other words, it's completely "mixed up and you don't know where the mangos begin and the rice ends." Cheers to the Judge for figuring it out!

Season 24, Episode 67: “My grandmother used to say: Vísteme despacio, que estoy prisa. Dress me slowly, 'cause I'm in a hurry. In other words, you’re gonna spend a hell of a lot more time because nobody’s calming down, taking a look, and making sure it goes out right.”

A new and very topical maxim from S24E110: “How wise was it to rent the car and have it completely, as we say in Spanish, ‘suelta sin vacuna’? Loose with no inoculation?” i.e., Don’t act without protecting yourself. Get your vaccine, friends!

From S25E17, the first maxim of the new season! "¡Me pica qué, me rasca aquí! It itches here, but you're scratching me here! I’m asking a very specific question… Don’t go on to the next thing. Tell me if you have *any* evidence.”

Another maxim from Judge John on S25E34! A woman writes in that her boss had an affair with her husband. “She could get, what we call in Spanish, ‘dulce venganza’, a little sweet vengeance. She could maybe look up the [boss’] husband, have a little fling with him!” Karma karma!

A maxim from a defendant on S25E43! “I was watching your phrases and I want to say something: el que no la debe no la teme. He who has nothing to hide has nothing to fear.” Judge Milian responds: “Es tiempo de temer por te vas deber.” Time to fear because you’re going to owe.

A third maxim from the closing interview with Judges Marilyn and John on S25E43! When asking her friend why she separated from her husband, she’d respond: “Mejor solo que mal acompañado.” Better alone than poorly accompanied.

S25E100: Judge Milian says the defendant is acting “suelta sin vacuna” (loose and unvaccinated). “Go do whatever you want to do, but you have an 8-year-old. […] It’s kind of really crazy on your part and most of your pain and suffering was caused by your bad decision making.”

On S25E145, Judge Milian reads the riot act to a retired cop for his road rage violence and his false claim that he only threw one punch: “Ni tu mismo te lo crees, not even you believe yourself. You think somebody with my experience is gonna believe you?!”

Well, it’s been a fun 11 years. I love The People's Court and Marilyn Milian but I can no longer support this platform and the resurgence of hate speech here. Look for us on Mastodon. Kindness is the most important thing. Bye!
