Today is Michaelmas. The autumn feast of St. Michael the Archangel: guardian of high places, weigher of souls, heavenly warrior against evil, defender against the dark. Below, the light strikes the high altar at the Magnificat for Michaelmas Vespers.

Thank you to the 324 altar servers - plus their family and friends - from parishes across RC Birmingham who joined us on Saturday. It was a joyous occasion, giving thanks to God for all they bring to the life of the Church through service at the altar.
