Thanks to everyone who joined us for Bristol Refugee Festival 💜 We hosted 4 delicious cookery classes with chefs Jaufferkhan, Celia, Ali & Amal – preparing Sri Lankan, Hong Kong, Kurdish & Egyptian recipes while celebrating culture, community & connection. 🍽️

Deruny are Ukrainian potato pancakes. Ukrainian chef Iryna makes hers crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. They are the perfect accompaniment to sour cream! 🥔 You can try making these at one of her classes on the 6th of July and 17th of August. Link in bio to book🔗

#GaoZi dumplings are Hong Konger Chef Cathy’s ultimate comfort food 🥟✨ Veggie ones packed with shiitake, cabbage & glass noodles; lamb ones rich with leek & spice. Steamed, boiled or pan-fried. SO delicious!

Lettuce is the star ingredient today! 🥬 At Chef Randa, Yasemin and Halise’s classes, lettuce brings crunch, colour and balance to the table. Halise’s Kisir, Yasemin’s Mercimek Kofte and Randa’s Obbeh el Batata use fresh leaves to add that extra layer of flavour and texture🌿

We did it! With 524 pledges, 275 supporters and £23,035 raised, our Crowdfunder is officially wrapped 🎉 Huge thanks to everyone who supported us - we’re one step closer to opening our new Bristol cookery school this Autumn 🧑‍🍳💛
