The attending and I both cried this morning after sign out (but only after sign out) and if that doesn’t tell you about our night and our ability to compartmentalize…. May every single patient have someone that cares that much. It’s what they deserve.

Also- how lucky are we to have pets! Allison teases me about my favorite inherited phrase- how lucky are we!- but I really mean it. How lucky are we to give and receive unconditional love, especially when we come home and our spouses are working 9-5 and can’t dry our tears.

Happy to know I’ll be in good company in Burlington!
