The public has a right to know - know how the government is spending their money, know what impacts that will have on healthcare, and know who is influencing those decisions. We don’t all have the time to investigate every government decision - luckily we have journalists. 1/

Whatever your political stripe, you have an interest in journalists being able to ask questions of any government about how money is being spent and who is influencing those decisions. Targeted harassment against a report asking those questions is an attack on democracy. 2/

This absolutely was targeted harassment - posting photos of someone’s movements, and who they speak to is meant to intimidate, it is meant to scare a reporter out of following the facts. The aim is to deprive the public of the truth. Our Premier must condemn this. 3/3 #AbLeg

The federal government’s message today to big federal employers: don’t worry about having to bargain. We got you. My message to those employers and the federal government: we will always and I mean always defend the right to strike and to fair and free collective bargaining. 1/

Federal employers need to consider hard what they are sowing here. Because this is what I know: suppressing the rights of workers in this country does not give you labour peace.
