Today we mark the second anniversary of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. A remarkable lady whose public service and duty to our country and the commonwealth is unsurpassed. We miss her and honour her today.

Busy weekend meeting members and sharing my plans for leadership. Brilliantly organised events in Bolton, South Staffordshire, Reigate and online hustings with hundreds of South West members. Great conversations about leadership and how to rebuild our party.

Great to be out holding Labour to account prior to leading our two debates in the Commons today. Labour made a clear choice. They put their trade union paymasters above millions of pensioners, many of whom are highly vulnerable. Labour should rethink now.

Labour have been in power for mere months and already it’s clear they are not fit to govern. If we Conservatives get things right, we can make the Starmer era a flash in the pan.
