IHUOMA I can only imagine the pain you must have went through listening to someone else take the stand that day. I only we wish we can do better with this whole tribalism thing. Anyways i'm also half cabbage - half mango.

IHUOMA The Tribalism and Anti-Igbo sentiments being practiced in the SW did not Start this last Election season or in Lagos. It is a general mindset that must be Recognized and Destroyed. I’m so sorry this happened to you. I hope ur okay. 💝

IHUOMA I’m sorry you passed through this. No human should be made to feel like. I hope you don’t think about it anymore. A child born of Igbo father or mother will always be welcome to dine at the table with Ndi Igbo.

I've read through the comments and opinions. As much as I didn't expect this post to go viral, I'm glad that it is sparking up conversations around discrimination in this manner. I wrote to emphasise that a child should not be forced to identify with just one tribe.

That I chose to switch my third name doesn't take away my Yoruba blood. It will not make me throw away my father, throw away my surname or leave Yorubaland. Never. Neither will it stop me from identifying with my mother's people. That "forced" loyalty died in that stadium.

IHUOMA Sincerely, those of us that are half Yoruba half Igbo deserve to be recognised as a distinct group of our own. The term “tainted blood” cured my naivety & now I claim my mixed identity proudly. If anyone asks where I’m from, I say Ogun & Delta state simultaneously. One love ✌🏽

African Realist IHUOMA There are inter-ethnic marriages all over the country. However, the only category of inter-ethnic offsprings that face discrimination and hostility are the half-Yoruba ones. ..and yes, from the Yoruba side ALWAYS.

When a country divides, do they intentionally call the troublesome side “North…” ?? Because there seems to be a pattern🤔

My dad was just 23 when I was born. By the time I gained admission into university at 16, he was only 39. We practically grew up together. He raised me not just as a father, but also as a brother and friend. The bond we share is unbreakable. The rest, as they say, is history.

A 'Buch Treasure Ugwum Gift Eric Gugua The word "north" comes from Proto-Indo-European *ner-*, meaning "left" or "below," likely linked to the sun’s position—like "below" the earth or left when facing east. It evolved through Old English *norþ* and Germanic *nurþrą*. The North Pole, at 90° north latitude, isn’t

The smell around was of damp and death. We squeezed in, my siblings and I, while my parents and one of my brothers covered the hole with dry leaves and grass. They stayed outside. There was no room for all of us. From that tiny breath-hole, I watched. The men on bikes came.

We saw the assailants, what they looked like, the language they spoke how they prayed to the god they prayed to. We also know that their kind occupy many of the villages around that were razed before now. It is said that when people are pushed to the wall, they will push back,

the evil killer Eric Gugua Oh yes. You are right. Maps were actually changed. They turned the world naps upside down. Alkebulan(Africa) was at the TOP, but the western people changed it to put themselves at the top. Making South turn to North and that is why the earth is fighting humanity. We need a reset.
