I have secured Government approval to publish Ireland’s new mental health policy -an update on Vision for Change. An important moment & roadmap on what we need to get done. Well done to Jim Daly for leading this. Advocacy groups will now be briefed & plan published next week

We have eagerly awaited the new MH policy, and coordinated planning of our MH services . However it is at risk of being outdated before print if it has not anticipated and planned for an unprecedented risk in specialist MH demand.

Excellent insight into general reduction of Non essential ED presentations to temple St during initial CoVid phases. The reduction in MH seems disproportionately lower than other cases.

Congrats to Dr Aoife Twohig Consultant child psychiatrist with special interest and expertise in infant MH. So many babies, parents and staff have benefited from her inspiring work .
