Grateful for the special year camargo and I had with NEHS students. Some of our service projects included decorating sack lunch bags, writing encouraging messages to our 3rd grade STAAR testers, and reading to Kinder. Amazing job, Mustangs! 💙

2nd grade can keep a beat 🎵 We played a cup passing game to see what happens when we all follow our own beat vs. all follow a steady beat ❤️ Then we used our language skills to discuss why the steady beat is so important in music! #thinkittalkit

3rd grade can read, write, reproduce, & create rhythm patterns 🎵 Students completed a rhythm scavenger hunt by drawing and labeling hidden rhythms around the classroom, chanted rhythms in whole group exercises, and created their own rhythm pattern to chant with a partner!

4th grade can make cross-curricular connections 🎵🌏 Students read and summarized a biography of composer Arthur Benjamin. Check out his famous composition, “Jamaican Rumba” 🪇 #everybodywrites #WinnersWin

Kindergarteners have been having fun this week marching to the steady beat 🥁Student leaders created one line of ducks and one line of patos that zig-zagged across the class 🐥🦆 We then challenged ourselves to sing “March of the Ducks” in English and Spanish as we walked 🎤
