Here's a great new tune by Max Yoder. A very good friend to me and many others :) I recorded this with Max and Vess a few weeks ago on an evening full of laughter and smiles. I think this song really captures the vibe of the night. #summerjam open.spotify.com/track/175LS4zC…

Two new songs! Recorded with Jeb Banner, Vess Ruhtenberg, and Anthony Garber. By far the most fun I’ve ever had making music open.spotify.com/playlist/3mbYJ…

A key learning from my first 50 years: Happiness is built on growth. Growth requires change. Change can be very traumatic. Slow or poor processing of trauma limits our growth and therefore happiness. Meditation can increase our capacity to process trauma.

The importance of having a lot of grace as a leader is central to Max Yoder's philosophy - both to others and to yourself as a founder. Max is a phenomenal founder, and Lesson.ly was a great success story. Listen to our quick chat on The Daily Bolster here.

Self-compassion > self-criticism I used to believe conflict = dysfunction, now I believe conflict = information Rest is hard to come by in a culture that’s addicted to stimulation, but I can’t flourish without it From a convo with Matt Blumberg podcast.bolster.com/public/142/The…

In the short Daily Bolster with Max Yoder a couple weeks ago, we talked about the importance of self-care and self-compassion for founders. Today, we go in deep with Max to talk about self-reflection. Thanks so much for your thoughtful advice and insights, Max!

A sign of emotional intelligence is moving from “You made me feel” to “This is how I reacted.” Our emotions aren’t caused by other people’s actions. They’re shaped by our interpretations. Blaming others gives them power over our feelings. Taking responsibility empowers us.
