Best beach is an empty beach. I'm still alive. I sporadically post ethereal videos from my tropical beach. Follow your dreams. You don't need to write yourself to a private beach at a young age, but it's possible. If I did it, you can. Sky's the limit! 🏖🇲🇽🪅💯☀️🎏📚💙🌊⛵🐳💦

Alcohol is my life. I'm an amalgamation of Charlie Sheen in "Two and a Half Men" with a Malibu beach house in Cabo, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda in 1922 on the French Riviera, Don DeLillo in 1979 in Greece, Dorothy Parker in Paris, Hunter S. Thompson in "The Rum Diary" in 1960.

Before every NFL season I like to analyze key numbers based on results of the NFL regular season. They are changing over the years, and can answer questions for you about what line moves are more important than others. Here is the last 10 NFL seasons for MOV of 0 through 10.

This innocuous tsunami is Lilliputian. I sometimes pray to Poseidon and Neptune for a 9.9-magnitude earthquake or a humongous asteroid à la the Chicxulub impactor which hit the Yucatán peninsula and caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. A tsunami that drowns two billion humans.

Matthew’s writing is not like anything I’ve ever seen. It’s Hunter Thompson on steroids. If you like that sort of thing. Check out Matthew Dexter

"This morning, I was assailed by such sadness at the velocity of life, the distance I've travelled from my own youth, the persistence of the old regrets, the new regrets, the ability of failure to freshen itself in novel forms, that I almost crashed the car." —Denis Johnson

I love living by the ocean. It was my dream to have an ocean view, and it took nearly two years of writing in Mexico before I could afford one. I lived in a grimy apartment in America twenty years ago. Poetry in motion. Every second there are subtle inertial changes in the sea.

I love living in the tropics. I thank the gods every day that I'm able to write and edit in ethereal paradise. Follow your dreams! Sky is the limit. "The water of inlets winking in the sincere light of day, under a sky as blue and brainless as the love of God." —Denis Johnson

one of the best sentences of the century (pedantic but also important: "the distance I’ve travelled from my own youth, the persistence of the old regrets, the new regrets, the ability of failure to freshen itself in novel forms" is, in fact, set off my em dashes not commas)

I decided to catch up on emails and noticed one of my essay submissions at midnight. I knew it was a rejection letter and grew terrified to read it. 90% certain it had to be a rejection. I finally mustered the courage to open the email. It's an acceptance letter for an anthology.
