If a developer in Barking and Dagenham wants to get its hands on “cultural assets” so that they can built leasehold debt traps… You can be sure that the council will bend over backwards to demolish that cultural asset, they call it “inclusive growth” just not inclusive of

“Solving the housing crisis relies not just on how many new homes we build, but on their affordability. Too often developers prioritise profitable luxury units over housing that meets the needs of people already living here.” Go Flo! ⁦Florence Eshalomi MP⁩ theguardian.com/society/2025/o…

Nobody should have to pay for housing that makes them sick! Our members have been forced to endure hazardous conditions for too long. On the day that Awaab's Law comes into force, it's time for Hackney Council to finally rehouse our members in safe homes now!

If you’re a private landlord who thinks it’s acceptable to rent out slum housing that puts your tenants’ health and safety at risk, you shouldn’t just lose the right to be a landlord - there’s a strong case that you should be behind bars. The renters rights bill is rebalancing

This will not go away Steve Reed - and we will remember the failure to act on an industrial scale overcharging that landlords are getting away with. We're happy to talk solutions like this: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7311… If you support action on this abuse - please sign!

FT: confusing housing need with demand leads to massive policy failure. A huge number of people need a home: far fewer can actually afford to buy one. We need a wholesale change in how we commission, fund and build new homes. SOCIAL HOUSEBUILDING NOW! ft.com/content/908024…

Cowboy developer cut off and blocked several of the boiler flues of the building I live in. Also built over our boundary and refused to do party wall. Local council wont’t enforce. Building control is private company who keep referring us to the council. System is such a mess.

With £2.8bn spent annually on temporary housing and £30bn+ each year on housing benefit it'd make sense for public money to buy them at discounted rate. But this govt is completely in hock to volume developers, so won't do it.
