Hero of the Day Today, we honored Charlotte native, Lance Cpl. Nicholas O'Brien, at a wreath laying ceremony. He was KIA during a deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. You can attend our last wreath laying ceremony tomorrow from 9-10 a.m. at UNC Charlotte.

Hero of the Day Today, we honored Staff Sgt. Thomas Dudley at a wreath laying ceremony at the UNC Charlotte Center City Campus Garden. Dudley paid the ultimate sacrifice while conducting combat operations in Afghanistan, 2011.

Today, we remember all the lives lost on 9/11. During Marine Week Charlotte, we commemorated 9/11 by climbing 110 stories with Charlotteans, the Charlotte Fire Dept., and service members.
