And silly season is now in full swing! Daytime running lights, side lights & automatic headlights are NOT suitable for wet weather, and or dusk. You, the driver is in charge of the car. Just switch headlights to the on positions! It’s not hard! #RoadSafety

Good news for pedestrians from Westminster City Council: a trial of side-road zebra crossings is underway. People on foot already have priority over vehicles at side roads, but these road markings will remind everyone of what it says in the Highway Code westminsterlabour.org.uk/issues/2024/09…

“It’s the same things over and over again,” she said. “It’s people falling off ATVs not wearing a helmet. It’s people not switching off machines, getting crushed by moving machinery or cattle, or falling through roofs.”

The driver of this #LandRover decided to ignore the road closure barriers on a flooded road, thinking their vehicle could swim. The vehicle proved otherwise. Remember - the barriers and closures are there for a reason. Driver reported. #SafetyFirst

Well done to this Toyota pickup driver who passes the cyclist giving plenty of space. It can be done. Vulnerable road users really appreciate careful driving like this. Giving space is a safety margin allowing for side winds, potholes, oil spills, debris etc.

As the nights draw in, it can become very dark inside #RichmondPark as we have no artificial lighting, and it can be very difficult to see. Add in wild animals that don't look left & right when crossing the road, and it can become very hazardous indeed.

Checking your eyesight regularly is essential. Eyesight changes are incremental and often go unnoticed, but can lead to missing hazards such as vulnerable road users. Easy test: look around a car park and find the furthest reg you can read, pace the distance <28 call an optician!

We Europeans (including the UK) have no time to be depressed, to be angry, or to be scared. Too much time has been wasted over the past two years. No more burying one's head in the sand, no more hoping for the best. Time to step up. For our security, for Ukraine, for our future.
