One of the most irritating aspects of the Diddy case is all the conspiracists pushing wacky theories instead of everybody just acknowledging the case for what it is: one man going down within a larger white supremacist capitalist patriarchal music industry.

I am thinking about when Dr.King said, “every revolutionary movement has its peaks of united activity and its valleys of debate and internal confusion.”

Artists, we need to have candid conversations about what ruthless capitalism has done to our professions, to the craft, to the outlook for future generations. It doesn't have to be like this. Practice integrity, build solidarity, hold abusers accountable. Period.

This is true. I contemplate how it could have easily "been me." I was a choice away from being a single mom, a few steps from assault. It's easier to think you're savvy than to acknowledge avoiding misogyny's wrath can come down to the luck of the draw. Have solidarity instead.

The student loan system is in chaos. Just, messy. The federal government and student loan servicers need to learn some personal responsibility. I'm gonna teach them a lesson by not paying back my student loan. Ever.
