We are going to lose an entire generation of scientists. NSF, one of the largest federal funder of STEM education has seen an 80% reduction in funding, including support for trainees, so far this year. “You can’t have science without scientists”

FRAUDULENT—RFK Jr’s report on “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) cited completely FAKE studies that do not even exist, & completely misinterprets others. Truly wild. This is the same guy who bypassed all CDC scientists to put out anti vax nonsense. notus.org/health-science…

As we all age, we accumulate mtDNA mutations, but what underlies this hockey stick pattern? See our new pre-print: we treat mtDNA SNV burden as a "trait" and use GWAS to uncover the mechanism in blood. Led by newly minted MD-PhD Rahul Gupta w/ NealeLab /labneale.bsky.social. shorturl.at/IqYY8

These were not formatting issues..these were academic citations of nonexistent articles, and quotes attributed to authors that were fabricated. The report is academic misconduct and fraud at a severe, deep level.

The FY26 HHS Budget in Brief has been released. It outlines how the existing NIH institutes & centers will be combined into eight (with only NCI, NIA & NIAID retaining their original structure). There are 40% cuts proposed in NIH budget (including the NCI). 😢 Cancer Research 📉

Dear colleagues, Argentinean science is dying. I am not kidding. The government has halted National funding, they are firing people and shrinking our institutions. Please help us spread the word. youtu.be/76tYd-QRIfI?fe…
