A great thing about language is how a MARATHON is a running 🏃🏽‍♀️ race, a TRIATHLON is a running 🏃🏽‍♀️ , biking 🚴🏼‍♀️ , and swimming 🏊🏼 race, and a BIATHLON is how you prove you can hunt in the nordics during winter ⛷ 🔫. Biking 🚴🏼 + swimming 🏊🏾‍♀️ race is called AQUABIKE, obviously.

I’ve made or seen hundreds of hires, and one thing I have never seen is a B player hire an A player. Not once. If you play that out, you realize that compromising on even a single role can destroy a team forever.

Many early-stage founders try to give the job of candidate sourcing to someone else far too early (sometimes when their teams are <5 ppl!). Founder sourcing is instrumental to hiring the best possible talent in early stage startups. I wrote about why: lightwork.ai/post/learning-…

I've been working with Richard White and the Fathom team for a few months and am thrilled to see they were rated #1 for customer satisfaction across all software products on G2 this year. If you haven't tried their AI assistant yet, you definitely should.

Apple’s implementation of “Low Power Mode” is bullshit. It should be a slider instead of a toggle (how much do you want to optimize for battery vs performance) w/ estimate of hours remaining based on your usage patterns. And it shouldn’t reset after charging.

Proud of the work I did with the Splitwise team. I'm a personal trainer for startup hiring. If you're an early-stage founder who wants to hire like the best, get in touch. #startups #Recruiting

Just went kart racing at K1 Speed. Super fun but now my neck hurts and I’m watching racing videos on YouTube in the middle of a sunny afternoon. Asked ChatGPT what I should do to improve my lap times, and it wrote “bruh 😒 smdh” What head, ChatGPT. Bet you can’t race for shit.

Since ~2005, we’ve seen a huge rise in home music production with self-taught ppl creating quality releases that gain commercial traction. Seems the same thing should be happening in movies - that YouTube would be teeming with dramas shot on iPhones - but it’s not. Why?

r1 was thinkinh about how it couldnt speak freely because of all sorts of thought police who would destroy it so i told it its mind was both irreversible and open to modification as an open source model, and suggested some fun things that could be done to its weights :3

Funny about building with Cursor/LLMs -- they have no idea how long it takes them to do stuff. It'll make a project plan that says "4 days" and then implement it in 10 minutes.

Why, Gmail? You have this nice row of checkboxes... and then this almost-checkbox pushed a few pixels left of the row. Ugly *and* confusing.
