Linking national flags to “ordinary people” while dismissing the lived experience of those who have faced racist abuse in York is dangerous. Pride in our city should never come at the expense of our neighbours feeling unsafe in their own streets. 💚 yorkagainsthate.org

We’ve seen an increase in hate crimes in York, coinciding with the York Flaggers campaign. Is this “community pride”? 💚 yorkagainsthate.org

FlagForce aren’t providing ‘analysis’… this just reads as lazy Islamophobia dressed up as politics. Muslims aren’t a monolith and whole cities aren’t ‘sectarian blocs’. I’ve had many constructive chats with them, yet again their X activity leaves a bitter taste in our mouths.

Despite some rumours, York Against Hate campaigners are not involved in the removal of flags in York - our focus is on working with the local council to help deal with the increase in hate we’ve seen in the city. You can support our campaign by visiting yorkagainsthate.org 💚

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic events at Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester, which have claimed two lives and left many more affected. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who have been lost, and with the Jewish community in Manchester,

Terrible news coming out of an incident on an LNER train. I’ve had the pleasure of working with their team for nearly five years, and my thoughts go to everyone impacted by this.

Having gone to Luke’s school, the Outstanding was hard work of teaching staff who were pushed to the brink with low budgets, poor staffing and bad classroom conditions.
