It's time to make it official. After over 5 years at @UU_University working with an incredible team at Human Evolution Research Program Uppsala, I'm now looking for new adventures, keeping in mind all the outstanding projects I had the opportunity to be involved, the friends that I met, and the cold winters.

To alleviate this problem, we developed TRAILS, an HMM that combines modeling the ILS in the style of CoalHMM and the time discretization of PSMC. The hidden state space is thus more complex, where genealogies have a certain topology and coalescent in discretized time intervals.

If you want to run TRAILS, the model is available as a python package (pypi.org/project/trails…). And if you are interested the math behind the model, the algorithm is explain in detail in the supplement accompanying the manuscript (journals.plos.org/plosgenetics/a…). (17/17)
