Come join us for a PhD as we try to understand how telomeres protect the end of chromosomes! 🧬 We’ll train you in single-molecule biophysics using AFM and optical tweezers with the opportunity to take findings all the way from the single-molecule to in vivo phenotypes.

Fun afternoon doing outreach at Gayhurst Community school with Towerslab. Here we are demonstrating the aerosol transmission of respiratory viruses such as SARS-CoV-2. The kids at the front blow into talcum powder and within a few minutes you can smell it from the back of the room!

Found out that 2 of my PhD students ⁦Lydia Newton⁩ and Linran Wang went to the ⁦UCL Division of Infection & Immunity⁩ PhD colloquium yesterday, and won prizes for their poster/talk without any input from me whatsoever. Very well done. Really impressive. Independence training is effective!
