Get to know more about the Love Worcester Venues and keep an eye out for some little known facts over the next week! For example did you know that The Infirmary Museum 💉 is home to a fascinating (if gory!) collection of death masks of hanged criminals!

#loveworcesterfacts Did you know that the current Worcester Cathedral tower is actually the third one? The first one collapsed in 1175 taking a lot of the Nave with it and the second tower had to be dismantled as it was unsafe. The present tower was completed in 1374.

Back in 2005 & 2006 our archaeologists excavated at The Commandery, finding the 13thC chapel & a wonderful Wyvern tile. Many volunteers helped us & had their first experience of a dig (were you one?). #LoveWorcester Read our newsletter of the time bit.ly/2wnffNt

This week you can look inside Guildhall Worcester as part of Worcester Heritage Partnership. On Oak Apple Day the gates used to be decorated with oak to commemorate Charles II's birthday. The current building is 1723, replacing an earlier medieval one used by local merchants.

Today St Helen's Worcester is open until 2pm for tours, tea & cake as part of Worcester Heritage Partnership For 40 years it was one of our homes so is a special place to us (some may remember working or researching here) so we enjoyed helping them research the building as part of their recent project
