As I’m sure a lot of social workers will identify with, as soon as I finished work I got poorly 🤒 so after powering through the last couple of days I’m snuggled up in my blanket hoody from my son, my slippers off one of my looked after children and Prof. Carlene Firmin new book ❤️

Car karaoke with one of my teens this aft, picking out songs that had both negative language about females and empowering ones which led to some insightful conversations about healthy relationships, self esteem and confidence. I love the relationships we develop with our kids ❤️

What a time to live in,seeing children sleeping fully dressed in clothes& a coat for bed as it’s cold.Parents doing their best to meet their children’s basic needs &still struggling to afford enough heat.I bet our MPs children don’t have to wear coats to bed.A national disgrace

My 11 year old is the kindest sweetest boy, used his spending money to go to the shop after school to buy pudding for after tea because he wanted to make Monday a bit special as he knows how hard I work 😭❤️ makes my heart swell with love and pride everyday

Lots going on this week for Stockport’s week of action for exploitation.A fab session today on home takeovers (cuckooing) by GMP &Stockport homes.We’ve also had knife crime awareness &online safety in high schools&play based healthy relationships games in primary’s. NotOkayStockport

A goodbye visit to one of my lovely teens today,makes it all worthwhile when you hear things like ‘you met me at the worst time of my life &now just look at me(big beaming smile on her face)I’m so proud of myself&where I am today’😭 we are so honoured to be part of their journeys

Our contextual safeguarding group for parents is such an honour to be a part of. Supporting parents to understand risks outside of the home,building relationships,navigating the difficulties of parenting their teen and understanding teens at greater depth. #learningtogether
