My DM made a mini of my current Battlemaster Human Fighter 5e character: Arthur Valens. At this point he is geared up pretty well with swords of ice and flame, magic armour, and a magic cloak. #TTRPG #OSR #TTRPGs #DnD #Human #Fighter

This conversation crops up from time to time. This time it wears the guise of foodstuffs and magical meals yet beneath the new coat of paint lies the same issue: That of the intrusion of external agendas into fantastical fiction. Lee posted about the seeming strangeness

Britannia, depicted on the Armada Memorial in Plymouth, is a personification of the islands of Great Britain. During the 2nd Century she came to be revered as a goddess and was later revived in the early modern period as a national symbol. #History #Britannia #Britain #Art

Okay, once more, for the people in the back: I can suspend my disbelief for dragons and elves. I can suspend my disbelief for light sabers and hyperdrives. I can suspend my disbelief for steampunk occult wild west fantasy. That doesn't mean I want everything, all the time.

So following #Concord's utter failure I went to check in on #Starfield and am surprised to see that it actually gets around ten thousand players per day, about half of what #Skyrim SE sees if we're being generous.

I've seen several arguments about the new food D&D controversy that state Dungeons and Dragons is not now, nor has it ever been, a medieval fantasy roleplaying game. I think we've been playing very different games. #TTRPGs #TTRPG #TTRPGcommuity #OSR #DnD #Medieval

Badly Drawn Dungeons Gorgon's Grimoires Jack, Chronicler of the Northlands Actually stated in OD&D that there are no LAWS in the "game" and thus everything can contingently be changed, amended or discarded. Once you understand that, D&D is viewable only as a base example tool-kit and not a set in stone, by the book, set of rules.
