Great Northern Railway, invalid saloon built 1909 Doncaster No.3087 (Later 43087). Chargehand coach builder's name stamp above the bottom hinge on No.1 door pillar. Anyone have an E.Webb carriage builder from Doncaster in their family tree? LNER Coach Assn

1903 NER autocar. The first use of an internal combustion engine to power a rail vehicle (originally petrol electric, now diesel). Marvelous.

First gangway now in place on 189 since around 1927 when it was withdrawn from service. Some adjusting and final fixing to do. On the interior work progressing well and is now starting to look really special. The blind covers have had gold leaf applied and now refitted.

Photos of the progress by volunteers on ECJS Dining Car 189 at Pickering. Internal varnishing now taking place in small saloon and glass and mirrors being fitted in correct locations. 189 built at GNR Doncaster works in 1894. #victoriandiningcar #doncasterworks

We are delighted to have Sarah the Signwriter on site at Kirby Misperton doing the lettering on GNR saloon 3087. So far the gold leaf has been applied and the first shade of blue.#greatnorthernrailway

Further progress on GNR saloon 3087. Dark blue going on the letters and white flashing. Fantastic work by Sarah the Signwriter. She is not on X unfortunately. #greatnorthernrailway #doncasterworks
