The official Liveblocks MCP server is here! AI has 39 different tools for interacting with rooms, threads, notifications, and more. Use it to generate documents, write comments, check permissions, search through data, etc. Here's me replying to a thread directly from Cursor.

Changelog → Week 18 • Users can now subscribe to individual threads • MCP server—AI can modify rooms, comments, notifications, more • Adds support for textMentions in room subscription settings lblcks.io/week-18-2025

You can now subscribe to individual Liveblocks threads. This means that end users will receive inbox notifications whenever there's activity, even if they aren't participating already. Update our packages and the feature will appear in your app!

What's new in Liveblocks → April 2025 • Users can now subscribe to individual comment threads • Use AI to read & modify your rooms with our new MCP server • One-time customers are now free with our fairer billing lblcks.io/jEEouK4

One-time users are now free at Liveblocks. We don't believe that a user who signs in once is a real monthly active user, and you shouldn't have to pay for them. From now, you don't. Traffic spikes will no longer affect your billing.

AI is enabling a new type of programming, it's fascinating. Don't return structured data, just write natural language for AI, and it can figure out what to do next. This is not theoretical either—this is how our AI devtool will reply & call tools. Even better than this though…

I talked at React Miami about Multiplayer Experiences with React using Liveblocks, PartyKit, and PeerJS I wanted to create a nice experience for it, so we created a game with Nicolas Navarro and basement.studio to play with the public (code below) youtube.com/watch?v=iH-TDn…

Nothing meaningful is built alone. That’s been true for humans. And now, for AI too. Something new is coming next week at Liveblocks. We think you’ll love it!

We just launched Liveblocks 3.0: the fastest way to add AI copilots and collaboration to your product. Companies rush to add AI, but it often seems forced. Instead, we asked ourselves: how can AI feel like a teammate? Here's how. lblcks.io/meet-3.0

<AiChat /> just dropped. ✦ AI understands app context, can take actions, modify state. ✦ Render custom components or use pre-built UI skeletons. ✦ Persistent chats, RAG support, choose your AI, more. Just import the component and Liveblocks handles the rest.

Most companies are racing to add AI to their product. But it usually ends up feeling like an afterthought. We built something different: AI copilots and collaboration built into your product, not bolted on.
