It’s devastating to search for other countries experiencing the level of blackouts that South Africa is, and to realise that the majority of them are: war zones, recovering war zones, climate disaster sites and nations in economic collapse. We are a disaster, in denial.

#SouthAfrica energy crisis & proposed price hikes are gifting the country’s opposition political parties an opportunity to mobilise. Yet their own divisions and personality wars stymie the gift-horse that is staring them in the face.

For me, the key question is this: Why would a team like Tottenham, focused on winning and excellence, willingly associate with a government of losers, focused on incompetence? Bit like Warren Buffett choosing to be sponsored by Bernie Madoff.
