Warwick Mansell Lucy Powell MP Exams and assessment should have been planned last Summer. Plan A..B..C... with checkpoints for one to be used.Only about 100 days to get everything done within this academic year.....I really fear real pressure being exerted on all , within the system. Could we need a year 14?

So 1 in 4 exam grades are wrong every year, & Ofqual accepts exam grades are only ever reliable one grade each way. Then how can exams be the FAIREST way Nick Gibb?Time to go back to the drawing board & deliver FAIR & RELIABLE grades as defined by students. @halfon4harlowMP

After #exams2020 fiasco and the ongoing denial of justice for those DOWNGRADED, you’d have thought plan A,B,C would have been ‘OVEN READY’. With Sir Gavin Williamson CBE MP there will be more injustice like this for #exams2021 students I fear. theguardian.com/education/2021…

Cancellation of exams for 2cnd year shows shows damaging impact of school closures. Whilst centre assessed grades are perhaps least worst option, Department for Education need to ensure they do not bake a rock cake of exam grade inflation. Qualifications need to be valued by employers.

David Laws Education Policy Institute calls for anchoring of grades to historical data from 2018,2019, 2020 or risk massive over inflated grades in #exams2021. If your HOC’s thinks other schools will over inflated grades like #exams2020 then they will also to avoid disadvantaging students!!!

SG Education Policy Institute Schools that DOWNGRADED CAGs in #exams2020 are already at a disadvantage. Their grades will be constrained again, so A* student gets B & looses uni place. School up the road that over inflated 2020 grades is free to over inflated again & B student gets the A. @annita_mcveigh

Great to see Tes magazine news reporters out on the TV and radio in the last couple of days. This morning @CathImogenLough was helping BBC Radio London out with a brilliantly clear explanation of the convoluted mess that this year’s GCSEs and A levels have become

Agreed - teacher assessments didn’t work in 2020... why take the same route again? Take it from a teacher - teacher assessments don't work telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/02/2…

The outcomes of our joint consultation with Department for Education have been published. If you’re a student, parent, carer or teacher you can find out more on how results will be awarded this year here ow.ly/Ziij50DKB2X

@halfon4harlowMP Department for Education Read the analysis, hyper grade inflation is now inevitable in #exams2021. Schools that played by rules in #exams2020, FITTED grades to historical data, DOWNGRADED & DISADVANTAGED students. Those that gamed the system, INFLATED grades & won. So every school should cheat in 2021.

#Exams2021 I emailed my MP about the unfairness to home educated teens: abandoned 2 years in a row, not allowed to sit exams they need to access further & higher ed. His last reply: he's 'loath to press the point' when 'Ministers are so stretched'. BBC_HaveYourSay any interest?

According to Ofqual, exams are "reliable to one grade either way", so the claim that exams "are one of the fairest ways to award grades" is odd, especially in a piece about false positives and negatives: hepi.ac.uk/2020/06/01/no-…… The Guardian Higher Education Policy Institute theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
