Absolutely horrendous news. Just as the iconic Welsh osprey population was starting to get re-established, someone fells and destroys a nest which had an egg in it. What a waste, hope whoever did this faces the full force of the law.

The greatest man I will ever know. End of. Also showed me I could be a Fordham without going into humanities, for which I will be forever grateful. Lie well grandpa.

Weird that the excuse weirdos use when they're hating on women's cricket for no reason is "the slower bowling speed". Mate, you average 3.6 in a Sunday 3rds league against 47mph non spinners. One Crossy short ball would have you in tears

“It’s a man’s game” “Men at it” Get in the 🗑 what a disgraceful thing to say after the summer this country has just seen.

It's been a brilliant field season working with such great colleagues and an honour to work at the legendary Wytham Woods. I hope to be back soon!

I am absolutely delighted to announce that I've been offered the Butler PhD studentship RHUL Biology with @ElliLeadbeater1 and Julia Koricheva! I'll be looking at limited resource foraging and cognition (amongst other things) in bees and cannot wait to get started!

Exactly a month since starting my PhD RHUL Biology, I have my first bumblebee colony! I will be using it to practice care, marking, and differentiating workers from males and young queens. Look at the size of the queen compared to the workers- polymorphism will never not be cool

Absolutely delighted to be ORFC for 2024! Can't wait to talk to farmers and others from a researcher's perspective and start to understand how to bridge the gap between the two industries, the integration of which has never been so important. #orfc #ORFC24

Really fantastic discussion ORFC on unlocking ecosystem harmony for managing pests, weeds, and diseases with Nature Friendly Farming Network and great contributions from John Pawsey 🌞, Ana Reynolds, and Patrick from the The Barker Boys. Best of the conference in a rather grand setting! #ORFC24 #orfc

That's a wrap on my first d̶a̶y̶ night of field work proper! Glad to get going and start off nice and smoothly with most of the colonies coming along very nicely, though one was annoyingly (but quite cooly) taken over by a B. vestalis queen as in the video (scuse the french...)
