Back again this time with an image of the #Orionnebula taken a little while ago using the @PirateOU telescope. Nebula like this one are stellar nurseries where new stars are formed, some of the stars in this nebula may have only formed 10,000 years ago. #lborogrammar #clearskies

Morning all today image is of the #moon taken using the The Schools' Observatory telescope and then processed with using ltimage software. I wanted to add a little colour to see if I could highlight different features compare with the unprocessed image. #lborogrammar #lsf #clearskies

Good morning all, bucket list objective ticked off I have using the Faulkes Telescope managed to image a #supernova the image on the left taken last night by comparing it with the earlier image on the right you will notice a new star in the spiral arm. #lborogrammar #clearskies.

This supernova occurred last week in the #Pinwheel galaxy #M101 it is one of the closest supernova's at a distance of 20 million ly away. I have ordered some more images and have only done the quickest of processing on these images.#moretocome #lsf

Image number 3 this time a colour image of the Supernova in #M101 again taken with the Faulkes Telescope. It will be interesting to see how long this object remains visible for. #lborogrammar #clearskies #bigexplosion

I will not get bored taking images of this #supernova. Another image taken using the Faulkes Telescope. it has been designated #SN2023ixf and is a type II core collapse. These are generally older stars that are found in the spiral arms. #lborogrammar #clearskies

Good afternoon all, More images taken using Faulkes Telescope of the closest supernova in a decade #2023ixf. It was discovered by an amateur astronomer #KoichiItagaki. It has a current magnitude of about 11 which is observable with small telescope. #lsf #clearskies

Our latest measurements of supernova #SN2023ixf are magnitude 11.1 in V, R and I, and 11.3 in B. B and V are showing signs of dimming now, whilst I continues to brighten slightly.

Good afternoon all, I told you I would not get bored taking images of #2023ixf. This image was taken using the Faulkes Telescope it is staggering to think of the energies being produced. #moretocome #lborogrammar #supernova #clearskies

The Faulkes Telescope resource is just one of the best resources that I have in my teaching arsenal. The joy that the pupils get form taking images with the scope brings a smile to face every time. this image #Oliver2nd is of a spiral galaxy #moretocome

Finally after 3 attempts #Ahmed has taken an image that is tweet-worthy. this image is of the #omega nebula AKA Swan Nebula, #CheckmarkNebula, #LobsterNebula, #HorseshoeNebula, and there is still more to come. #clearskies

On Friday night Head of Physics, Adam Lloyd, showed Year 9 scholars and Year 9 astronomy enthusiasts how to identify the major constellations and used a great website to mimic the night sky. The boys then built astrolabs to help measure the position of a constellation in the sky
