The new 45cm STRAND pendant lamp by LAYER for Muuto brings elegant Japandi vibes to any room, with a soft, cloud-like form that evokes traditional paper lanterns. The smaller size is ideal for cozy spaces and it can be hung as a single pendant or in clusters for added drama.

Earlier this week, we shared a first glimpse at a new product designed by LAYER for Vitra. This sketch shows the super-compact desk accessory in use charging various devices – but this isn’t all it does… stay tuned to our feed this week to find out more about Vitra Ampi!

Vitra Ampi is a discreet desk accessory designed by LAYER that can charge up to six devices at once with induction charging on the top surface alongside USB-A and USB-C connectivity and two mains outlets in the pull-out drawer.

We’re excited to share a first glimpse of Vitra Ampi this week! This super-compact desk accessory dramatically increases access to power for charging various devices – and LAYER was proud to work on the global furniture giant’s first tech product.

Ampi is a new desk accessory for Vitra. The drawer slides out to reveal a USB-C and two USB-A ports, which can be used to charge devices. When the drawer is fully open, two mains ports that can be used to power a monitor or charge a laptop are revealed.

Ampi is a compact desk accessory designed by LAYER for Vitra with three modes of charging: USB, induction, and mains. To wirelessly charge, simply place a device on the top surface. At the same time, you can charge up to five other devices via the USB ports and mains outlets.

Introducing Calma, a family of home-work chairs for Andreu World that blends the functionality of a task chair with the desirability and approachability of the home. Calma is the first task chair produced by Andreu World and it responds to the hybridisation of work and home.

When designing the new Calma collection of chairs for Andreu World, we wanted to celebrate simplified forms and crafted materials. The signature is a die-cast aluminium frame that wraps around the backrest to create a framing element that flows seamlessly into the loop armrests.

The new Calma task chair by LAYER for Spanish brand Andreu World is a reflection of today’s flexible work practices. The gentle form and crafted materiality is balanced with a precise design language that tempers the softness, delivering a chair that feels capable and welcoming.

The VITURE One smart glasses we designed have secured more than $10 million in a Series A fundraiser for Viture. This takes the total raised by the company to $15 million. These figures prove the power of design – and demonstrate a significant return on design investment.

Earlier this year, the O6 task chair we designed for Allsteel launched NeoCon – where it won the Best of NeoCon Sustainability Award. The chair is now proving successful in the market and has been specified for several big tech company fit-outs!

Calma is a home-work chair for Andreu World that is as functional and beautiful in a traditional work setting as it is in the home. As people move back into the workplace, it’s essential that these settings are inspiring and calm to replicate the benefits of working from home.

Our new Calma task chair for Spanish brand Andreu World features plump seating balanced by a slim backrest that gives the chair a lightweight appearance. When specified in volume, the slimline form allows it to work seamlessly with the architecture of any interior space.

Calma for Andreu World is defined by an aluminium frame that wraps around the body of the chair, fluidly connecting the seat to the backrest and flowing into the signature loop armrest. This cocoons the user for comfort and maintains a visually lightweight appearance.

We named the charging station we designed for Vitra ‘Ampi’ – taking inspiration from amps, a unit that denotes the amount of electricity used by a device. With induction charging on the top, and a USB-C, 2 USB-A ports and 2 mains outlets in the drawer, we think it’s an apt name!

Ampi – the clever new desktop charging accessory we designed for Vitra – is made from recyclable plastic with a softly tactile texture and the pull tab on the magnetic drawer is crafted from Kvadrat textile in a nod to Vitra’s furniture heritage.

When closed, Vitra Ampi is a oftly radiused rectangle with an inviting dish on the top surface that provides induction charging for your phone. Slide open the front drawer and you’ll discover USB-A and USB-C ports, alongside two mains chargers. It’s the ultimate desk accessory!
