The River Wear which flows through Lambton Park is tidal up to Lamb Bridge! Historically, the water quality in the river was extremely low. Now one of the most improved rivers in England, brown trout, sea trout and salmon can now be seen. #lambtonparkuk #theriverwear

In 2007/2008 a huge exercise was undertaken to re-point and re-roof Lambton Castle to protect it’s future for years to come. The scaffolding shrouded the building for around 6 months. We can only imagine how many scaffolding poles were used! #lambtonparkuk #lambtoncastle

We are continuing to monitor ground conditions as well as Government guidance regarding the coronavirus and lockdown restrictions, as to when we will be in a position to safely and practically re-open the permissive footpaths at Lambton Park.

The seasonal permissive access routes will open from the 29th May 2021. Limited parking in dedicated car park at Bowes Business Park, with £3 charge. Open daily from 9am-6pm (last access 5pm) until 30th June. Then open Sundays only until 30th September.

ADVANCE NOTICE OF PERMISSIVE FOOTPATHS CLOSURE. Due to a private event taking place on the Estate and to ensure the safety of all concerned, the permissive footpaths at Lambton Park will be closed on 17th June. The permissive access will re-open on18th June as normal.

PLEASE NOTE: The seasonal footpaths at Lambton Park will close from the last Sunday in September (26th). We look forward to welcoming you back next year. #lambtonparkuk
