Check out this neat video describing a recent collaboration with Griffiths Computational Cognitive Science Lab! We find that chain-of-thought prompting can harm LLM performance in some of the same cases where explaining or explicit verbal reasoning harms *human* performance. Our ICML paper also linked below...
New preprint picks up Wai Keen Vong's work on training neural nets from a single child's input, now replicated with two more SAYCam children and three architectures! The similarities are stronger than the differences. arxiv.org/abs/2507.14749
