A Nature paper reports a single-step method to convert non-neuronal brain cells into functional neurons, demonstrated in isolated human cells and in mice. The technique is shown to reverse symptoms of Parkinson’s disease in a mouse model of the disease. go.nature.com/2VKke4L

My lab is looking for new post doctoral fellows (fully funded) interested in focusing on the intersection of RNA biology and chromosomal regulation in the immune, neural or any other interesting biology of their choice. Thanks much for RT.

Phosphorylation switch off on #TRPA1? mdpi.com/871446 via MDPI Found by our student Tyna during her master’s degree. Check the story and do not forget that the special issue of IJMS about TRPA1 is still open for contributions! mdpi.com/journal/ijms/s…

In our lab, two years ago... A: There's a drug that relieves cold-induced pain, but it's not known why... B: Let's see if it modulates TRPC5 - it should be cold-sensitive... The article's out, see for yourself. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

It was an absolute pleasure to measure the TRPV2! After years with TRPA1, which has its moods, recent experiences with TRPC5, which lives its own life regardless of the investigator's efforts, measuring a well-behaved TRPV2 was a refreshing experience. rdcu.be/c05YD
